Explained in plain English
Who decides player values?
It's a bit of a dance between the selling club, the buying club, and the player's agent. The selling club sets an asking price, often based on the player's contract length, age, talent, and market demand. As we saw with Rogers, Arsenal weren't willing to meet Villa's valuation, so Chelsea stepped in.
