What's a contract extension?

A contract extension, like Lewis-Skelly's until 2030, means a player agrees to stay at their current club for a longer period. This protects the club's investment, makes it harder for other teams to sign them, and often comes with a pay rise for the player. It shows Arsenal really value him and makes a move to Man Utd much less likely.
