What is libel?

Libel is a type of defamation, meaning a published false statement that damages a person's or company's reputation. Evri is claiming the BBC's Panorama broadcast made false suggestions about how it treats couriers, causing financial harm. If a court agrees, the BBC could be ordered to pay damages.
