How do courts handle claims?

When one party, like Evri, makes a claim against another, like the BBC, it starts a legal process. Both sides present their evidence and arguments to a judge, and sometimes a jury. The court then decides if the claim is valid and what the outcome should be, such as financial compensation or an apology.
