What is Defra?

Defra stands for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. It's the government department responsible for protecting our natural environment, supporting the food and farming industry, and ensuring food security. The NAO report specifically urged Defra to work more closely with businesses and councils to strengthen Britain's food resilience.
