What is a Chief Executive?
The Chief Executive is the head of government of Hong Kong, essentially its top leader. Tung Chee-hwa was the first person to hold this position after the 1997 handover. It's a powerful role, responsible for the administration and governance of the region, navigating challenges like economic crises and public protests, as Tung did during his tenure.
