Hong Kong's first leader Tung Chee-hwa died aged 89

Tung Chee-hwa, Hong Kong's leader following the British handover, passed away on Tuesday night. He took over from the last British Governor in July 1997, ending over 150 years of British control. His time in office saw the Asian Financial Crisis, two epidemics, and major protests before he resigned in 2005.
