Plan 2 loans are for students who started university in England or Wales from September 2012 onwards. Repayments start when you earn over a certain threshold, currently £27,295 a year, and are deducted directly from your salary. The interest rate is usually RPI plus 3%. These are the loans many MPs are concerned about.
