Explained in plain English

Is nine old for a racehorse?

At nine years old, Constitution Hill is considered mature for a racehorse, but not necessarily old enough to retire. Many horses continue to race competitively into their early teens, especially in jump racing where careers can be longer. Flat racing often favours younger, faster horses, but experience can also be an advantage.
