How are vaccines made?

Vaccine development is a complex process, often taking many months. Scientists identify the most likely circulating flu strains for the upcoming winter, then grow weakened or inactivated versions of these viruses to create the vaccine. This allows your immune system to build protection without getting sick, as seen with the new Super-K vaccine.
