How are PCCs elected?

Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) are elected by the public in their local police force area using the supplementary vote system. This means you pick a first and second choice. If no candidate gets over 50% of first choices, the top two go head to head, with second choices from eliminated candidates being added to their totals.
