Chinese people rush to customise OpenClaw AI

Ordinary people across China rushed to adopt the OpenClaw AI assistant, customising it to work with domestic apps and AI models. The open-source tool, built by Austrian developer Peter Steinberger, saw hundreds queue at Tencent and Baidu installation events in March. Chinese cybersecurity authorities have since warned of serious risks, restricting government agencies and state enterprises from using it.
