Energy Bills Fall £117 a Year Under New Price Cap
Households on standard variable tariffs are now paying lower unit rates, though analysts warn the relief may not last beyond June. Ofgem's new price cap sits at £1,641 annually - a 6.6% cut partly driven by the government removing around £150 in green levies. Cornwall Insight forecasts the July–September cap could rise 18% to £1,929 because of the Middle East conflict.
