Sam Fender Recognised for Album - People Watching at UK’s Top Music Prize
Musician Sam Fender has won the 2025 Mercury Prize for his album People Watching. The judging panel praised the record’s writing and production. Fender accepted the award during the ceremony in Newcastle and dedicated it to his late friend Annie Orwin, who inspired part of the album. This marks Fender’s first Mercury Prize win and follows his previous nominations in earlier years.
