Anthropic overtakes OpenAI revenue for first time
Sam Altman just lost his lead in the AI race. The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday that OpenAI has missed its own revenue and weekly user targets, with Anthropic crossing $30 billion in annual run rate against OpenAI's $25 billion. Tech stocks linked to OpenAI's spending plans crashed on the news, with Oracle down 6%, SoftBank down 10% in Tokyo, and Nvidia, Broadcom and AMD all sliding.
