Zelensky Reveals Demilitarised Zones as Central Element in Latest Ukraine Peace Plan
AI Generated (Gemini)
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has unveiled a revised 20-point peace proposal featuring demilitarised zones in eastern Ukraine as a potential compromise to end the war with Russia. The plan, agreed with US negotiators in Florida, would freeze current battle lines while potentially allowing Ukrainian withdrawal from 20% of Donetsk region under their control in exchange for equivalent Russian pullbacks. The proposal includes establishing free economic zones in contested areas and maintaining Ukraine's NATO membership aspirations without constitutional renunciation.
