Acting on intelligence from London-based NGO the Environmental Investigation Agency, Zambian authorities raided a house in Lusaka on March 9, arresting nine people, including one Congolese national, linked to a cross-border ivory trafficking syndicate. The Department of National Parks and Wildlife seized just under 550kg of ivory, disrupting a criminal network active across southern Africa for years.
