Christiane Amanpour, CNN's London-born chief international anchor, says she will leave the network after 43 years. Her show Amanpour will end in May, and she departs at the end of June, while her PBS programme, Amanpour and Company, ends this year. She joined CNN in 1983 as a junior desk assistant. CNN's chief executive, Mark Thompson, thanked her for decades of remarkable journalism and loyalty.
