Checks find silent deadly heart risk in young women
Simple heart checks are finding hidden issues in young women that could cause their heart to suddenly stop. A voluntary screening initiative by a UK charity evaluated nearly 40,000 females ranging from 14 to 35 years old, uncovering 175 individuals with previously undetected health problems. Of these women, 94 had an elevated susceptibility to an abrupt fatal heart event, demonstrating that early identification has the potential to prevent deaths.
