MPs say student loan comparisons misled students.

A group of MPs has stated that the government's comparison of student loan repayments to phone contracts or cinema tickets constituted mis-selling. The Treasury Committee also called for a U-turn on freezing the income threshold for Plan 2 loan repayments, which means graduates pay more sooner. Many students did not fully understand the loan terms, with some seeing their debt increase despite making repayments.
