Your Brain and a Turtle's Have More in Common Than You Think
A Tel Aviv University study published in Science Advances found that turtle brains can detect unexpected changes in the environment consistently, even when head or eye movements shift the image on the retina. This ability to filter self-generated motion while noticing real external changes was previously thought to exist only in the brains of mammals, not reptiles.
