Egypt reach last 16 for first time after shootout win
Egypt reached the World Cup last 16 for the first time in their history on Friday, beating Australia on penalties in Dallas after a 1-1 draw. Emam Ashour headed Egypt in front early on, set up by captain Mohamed Salah, before an own goal from Mohamed Hany levelled it for the Socceroos and the tie went to a shootout. Egypt will face Argentina or Cabo Verde in the last 16 on 7 July.
