Yvette Cooper: UK not pulled into Iraq-style conflict
Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper stated it is "simply not true" that the UK is being drawn into an Iraq-style conflict in the Middle East. Her comments followed an Iranian drone striking a British RAF base in Cyprus. The UK confirmed considering plans to evacuate approximately 300,000 Britons from the region. Britain also permitted the US to use its military bases for defensive strikes against Iranian missile sites.
