Your energy bill goes up £221 in July
Millions of households across England, Scotland, and Wales will face higher annual energy expenses this summer. Regulator Ofgem confirmed a 13% increase to the price cap, effective from 1 July, due to soaring wholesale costs from the Iran war. This change means gas bills will rise by 24%, with electricity bills seeing a 5% increase.
