116 out of 119 NHS trusts fail cancer waiting target
New figures show that only three of England's 119 NHS trusts met the 85% target for cancer patients to begin treatment within 62 days of referral in 2025. Across England, 69.1% of patients started treatment on time — well below the target, though up from 67.7% in 2024. The worst-performing trust, Mid and South Essex, saw just 45.4% of patients treated within 62 days. The 62-day target has not been achieved nationally since 2014.
