Under-16s social media ban cuts £1.3bn digital ads

The UK's ban on social media for under-16s is expected to significantly reshape how brands target young audiences. Analysts at eMarketer, a market research company, cut their 2027 forecast for UK digital advertising by £1.3bn because of the ban. Streaming services and family TV shows are tipped to benefit, as a third of 7-14 year olds currently find products through YouTube.
