Teen dies on M5 after police Taser use
An investigation is underway by the IOPC after the death of Logan Smith, 18, from Weston-super-Mare. On November 30, Smith was struck by a vehicle on the M5 southbound. Police were called after an ambulance, conveying Smith to hospital, halted on the hard shoulder. Smith then left the ambulance and entered the motorway's live lanes. The IOPC has confirmed that a police officer discharged a Taser. Bodycam footage shows Smith falling before the collision.
