Over 76,000 Brits Register Presence as UK Mounts Unprecedented Gulf Rescue Operation
More than 76,000 British nationals - mostly in the UAE - have registered with the Foreign Office as Iran's missile strikes continue across the Gulf. The FCDO's "register your presence" scheme has never previously handled so many people across so many countries simultaneously. Brits in Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Israel and Palestine are advised to shelter in place. Defence Secretary Healey confirmed 300 UK troops were within "a few hundred yards" of an Iranian strike on a Bahrain base. No British nationals have been killed or injured so far.
