AI models picked nuclear war in lab test

Humanity spent 80 years avoiding nuclear war. In a controlled lab test, AI models crossed that line within four turns. A King's College London professor ran 21 simulated nuclear crises in February using Claude, GPT-5.2 and Gemini. Across 329 turns, not one AI ever chose to back down, and 95% of games ended with nuclear weapons used.
