Stool test detects early fatty liver disease
Scientists have found a gut protein that connects your diet and gut bacteria directly to your liver health. A Singapore study, led by Nanyang Technological University, found lower levels of the Angptl4 protein in stool samples linked to higher fatty liver risk. This faecal test is better than blood tests for early detection, suggesting liver issues actually start in the gut.
