Half of young drivers buying fake car insurance
Young drivers are unknowingly driving without valid insurance, risking prosecution, fines, or their car being seized. The finance watchdog warned that "ghost brokers" are selling fake policies to 17 to 25-year-olds through social media and messaging apps. Amie Donaghey, age 21, was found guilty of a criminal offense after purchasing a fraudulent insurance policy for £700.
