Oil Prices Ease as US and Iran Signal Fresh Talks

Global energy costs remain elevated but showed signs of easing as diplomatic signals emerged between the two warring nations. Oil dropped on Monday after Washington and Tehran indicated a willingness to revive ceasefire negotiations, with West Texas Intermediate falling toward 96 dollars a barrel and Brent settling near 99 dollars. The two sides are discussing holding further talks before the two-week ceasefire, announced on 7 April, expires.
