22-Year-Old Wu Yize Is Second-Youngest Snooker World Champion Ever
Wu Yize, 22, beat Shaun Murphy 18-17 in a final-frame decider to win the 2026 World Snooker Championship at the Crucible on Monday. Wu becomes China's second consecutive world champion after Zhao Xintong won in 2025, and is the second-youngest world champion in snooker history after Stephen Hendry. Five Chinese players now rank inside the world's top 16.
