MPs probe student loan freeze causing higher repayments
Graduates are facing increased student loan repayments due to a threshold freeze, leading to widespread dissatisfaction among many. The Treasury Committee of MPs has launched an inquiry to examine if the repayment terms are fair, particularly for those with Plan 2 loans. Rachel Reeves, the Chancellor, announced in November's budget the Plan 2 loan threshold would freeze at £29,385 between 2027 and 2030.
