Anthropic defies Trump administration over military access to AI
AI firm Anthropic has clashed with the White House after refusing to grant the US military unrestricted access to its Claude model for surveillance and autonomous weapons. President Trump subsequently ordered federal agencies to cease using the technology, labelling the company a security risk. Despite the government ban, Anthropic’s app popularity has soared, contrasting sharply with rival tech leaders who have recently aligned themselves with the administration.
