Pakistan Bombs Kabul, Declares “Open War” on Taliban-Ruled Afghanistan
Pakistan declared “open war” against Afghanistan after trading cross-border airstrikes with the Taliban government. Pakistani jets bombed Kabul, Kandahar and Paktia, while Afghan forces retaliated by attacking Pakistani military bases. The conflict, rooted in Pakistan’s accusations that Afghanistan harbours the Pakistani Taliban (TTP), has killed hundreds on both sides. The EU, UN, and Qatar have urgently called for de-escalation. The fighting is happening simultaneously with the Iran conflict, stretching regional stability to a breaking point.
