Why recent rain won't end your hosepipe ban

Sixteen million customers must keep following restrictions because recent rain failed to replenish depleted rivers and reservoirs. Julie Morton, head of water resources at the company, said rainfall between March and August reached less than half of normal levels. The firm needs significant and prolonged rainfall over coming weeks before lifting the rules.
