WhatsApp is building a new Restricted Chat setting that will stop chosen conversations from syncing to linked devices. A chat will stay on the primary mobile, out of reach of WhatsApp Web or secondary phones. The setting helps close a loophole where modified web clients or AI agents could access messages from linked devices.
