Watford hospital's new robot speeds up recovery
Patients in Hertfordshire are recovering faster and getting home earlier after advanced robotic surgery. West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust introduced a new £3m DV5 robot, designed for higher precision and less tissue damage. For example, Michael Benjamin, 79, had bowel surgery at Watford General and was expected to recover in two days instead of five or six.
