Wales' £1B farm scheme sparks debate despite funding certainty

The Welsh government has committed £340 million per year to the Sustainable Farming Scheme until March 2030. The new budget will replace previous Brexit-era subsidies and will be ring-fenced for the farming sector. While farmers welcome the multi-year funding for certainty, some groups called for closer to £500 million a year.
