New blood test finds 90% high-risk prostate cancers.
A new blood test discovered more than double the high-risk prostate cancer cases compared to current methods, offering hope for better screening. Research on over 12,000 men aged 50 to 74 showed it identified up to 90 per cent of significant cancers, compared to 42 per cent with standard PSA tests. This Swedish finding will be reviewed by the UK National Screening Committee, who recently recommended tighter rationing of testing.
