X, TikTok, Meta face UK Parliament over Iran disinformation.
Representatives from X, TikTok and Meta are to appear before the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee as part of a parliamentary inquiry into how social media platforms are being exploited for diplomatic disinformation. The hearing forms part of a broader investigation into foreign influence operations targeting the UK. It comes as the Iran conflict has generated large volumes of disputed content across all three platforms.
