South East Water bans hosepipes for Kent customers from July 3.
South East Water will enforce a temporary hosepipe ban for all Kent customers from 3 July, asking people to start abiding by it now. The company says record demand for drinking water during the heatwave means storage tanks cannot be refilled fast enough, despite having plenty in reservoirs. Breaking the ban is a convictable offence, with fines up to £1,000.
