UK travel spending falls 3.3% in March
Holiday plans are being scaled back as rising costs and conflict fears push people to delay trips and save money instead. Data from Barclays showed travel spending dropped in March 2026, the first fall in five years, while overall card spending rose only 0.9%. One in seven adults postponed major purchases after February attacks on Iran.
