Verizon posts worst day since 2002 as SpaceX U.S. network plans whack cell provider stocks

Shares in major US phone companies fell sharply on Friday after SpaceX announced plans to buy spectrum for a new mobile service. Verizon saw its worst day since 2002, dropping 8.75%, while T-Mobile and AT&T also had their biggest falls in years. The US communications regulator said the deal was "really good news for American consumers" as it will increase competition.
