New tech could unlock geothermal energy anywhere
Geothermal energy, which uses natural heat from below the Earth's surface, is getting a boost from new drilling technologies. Companies are developing ways to access hotter, deeper rocks, making this renewable energy source available in more places. While currently expensive, firms hope targeting very high temperatures will improve the economics and power potential.
