US reverses course with 5,000 troops for Poland
Poland could see a bigger American military presence after weeks of uncertainty over troop plans in Europe. Donald Trump said on Thursday that 5,000 extra US troops would go to Poland, linking the decision to his relationship with President Karol Nawrocki. Earlier plans to halt a 4,000-soldier deployment had drawn concern from Nato allies and Polish officials.
