US presidents lead tributes to civil rights icon Jesse Jackson

Tributes have poured in from across the US political spectrum after veteran civil rights campaigner Jesse Jackson died aged 84. Former president Barack Obama hailed him as a towering figure who helped open doors for Black leaders in public life. Former presidents Joe Biden and Bill Clinton commended his lifelong commitment to justice and equal rights. Donald Trump offered condolences, describing Jackson as a friend, while also criticising rivals. Former Vice-President Kamala Harris honoured his lasting impact on future generations.
