US data centres nearly double planned gas power in a year

New research shows the amount of gas-fired power being developed for US data centres has almost doubled in less than a year. Tech companies are increasingly constructing their own fossil fuel power stations to supply electricity to these centres, especially for AI, to avoid long grid connection times.
