Under-16s banned from ‘high-risk’ social apps

This is a big government crackdown on social media for young people, with some platforms facing an outright ban. Keir Starmer will announce the full plans on Monday, including restrictions like disappearing messages on ‘safer’ apps. Nine out of ten parents supported an under-16 ban during a consultation with over 116,000 responses.
